Udayshankar Sarkar is a faculty of Business administration at City University. He is currently working on the Project titled “Microfinance and Sustainable Development” in vulnerable communities in Bangladesh. He explores how Microfinance meets the poverty burden for poor people regarding social, financial and environmental aspects. Sarkar wrote books on Finance, Banking and insurance and previous research focused on international corporate governance, Banking Sectors and macroeconomics. Sarkar has completed two research grants from City University as principal investigator and presented his research at Local and Foreign academic conferences. His research combines both Qualitative and Quantitative methods conducting empirical evidence and economic theory to support the design of efficient public policies. Sarkar’s workings range from poverty, hunger, inequality to sensible government policies with more comprehensive and real-world impacts. Sarkar received his Bachelor and Master of Business Administration degrees from Jagannath University, Bangladesh. Before joining as a faculty at the City University in 2016, he held a faculty position at the Cambrian College and Shamsul Haque Khan School and College.
